ENDGAME

To our remaining 9 warriors welcome to endgame! You've made it to the end, and now it's finally time to use everything you've learned, and all the experience of being in a murdercastle to achieve the final goal.

Cool, so how is endgame structured?

On Tuesday, the Sage will have an announcement for all remaining warriors at the usual time. This isn't a motive, just an IC announcement that the end is near, isn't that great.

On Friday you will get an investigation post (6:30 pm est like usual), sans any dead bodies, isn't that nice? What/where you will be investigating? Well that's a secret for now! For this, we're going to ask that you split into 3 groups of three. Please comment to this post to let us know how you arrange the groups! There will be something for everyone, this is mostly so we can organize things on the mod side.

On Saturday normal trial time(though Friday in game time), you'll have your final trial where you confront the Mastermind and hopefully achieve golden end. We have faith in you! This goes on however long it takes you to come to a conclusion.

Can you tell me more about Golden End?

Sure! So Golden End is the ideal scenario, where not only do you beat the evil-thing but you also revive all of the dead, and things are great and you can all go home. Sound too good to be true?

Well it's totally achievable, but we're not just going to award it to you for free. You'll be responsible for putting all the clues together, figuring out who the Sage and the Teishu really are, and the real reason you're all here. If you haven't been taking extensive notes of the plot so far that's OK, we'll give you everything you need during the final investigation! But it surely won't hurt having some background knowledge and so on.

One more thing: participation in the final trial is mandatory. In order to qualify for Golden End every living character must have at least 10 comments during the final trial log.

What about other potential outcomes?

While we can't be too specific here, there are other outcomes you may achieve depending on how everything is handled, including a total party kill, or an end where not everyone comes home etc. If this sounds scary to you, rest assured we really do want you to beat the game and will give you everything you need to do so.

I have another question!

Ask away, mods are standing by!

For week 7 all you need to do is comment here and check-in! That's it! You don't need to turn in threads or do anything more than comment. Congratulations on making it this far!

Check-in will end on Tuesday, September 26th at 11:59pm EST!

In the back of the room behind a green curtain is a make-shift voting booth of sorts. There are five slips of paper with the suspects name on them, and to vote you'll just need to select one of them and slip it into a small golden box. While you might be tempted to vote multiple times, it seems there's some sort of system against that which registers your pendant each time you vote— it'll glow faintly briefly upon a received vote.

You are free to change your vote at any time however.

End game!

thecastle: (Default)
Hi everyone! We hope you've had a great run so far in this crazy castle. That being said, we are approaching endgame! To be exact, endgame will be September 22nd - September 23. It will include an investigation and a trial, but they will be different from your typical trial.

We will have more concrete details next weekend, after our seventh and final case.

That being said, if this schedule conflicts with plans you may have we ask that you let us know now. Know that participation in endgame is mandatory for Golden End, the exact details of which will elaborated next week. It's nothing extensive don't worry!

As always, we ask that you keep your survivor pool status intact until next weekend (killer and victim for this week have already been rolled).

And if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

All threads must come from either the week 6 log or the week 6 afterparty log. Trials and Investigations are not eligible for AC, but you may reuse threads you've turned in for coins.

AC will conclude on Tuesday, September 12th at 11:59pm EST!

Hey guys, we'd like to quickly clarify some things about murder investigation/future murder investigations! Since there was some confusion last time, we hope to highlight a couple of key points that will help everything run as smoothly as possible in the future.

We know investigations can be pretty hectic, especially the first time around. We love the enthusiasm but we'd like to ask everyone to please remember to be courteous. However, as great as the interest in finding the body was, these things only work if we do them as orderly as possible. Skipping around threads and moving around can make it difficult to streamline discoveries so we ask you to keep such things to a minimum! There can certainly be more than three people looking around, but we ask you do it in the same thread from the start when possible! Obviously, if the body is difficult to locate it's fine to spread feelers out but in general we will give you an idea of where to start.

Once a figure is found and one character asks for clarification on its identity, we'd like to ask you to please be patient and wait for a mod comment before proceeding. We're excited to get down to brass tacks and get all the information out to you too, but we need time to write up discoveries and the best way to do that is if we minimize how many people are asking for information during the body discovery itself. Once it's out, please feel free to react and chatter away! We encourage it.

Additionally, if you're planning on investigating please make sure you're able to make it to the trial on time so you can turn in evidence as soon as possible. For the first trial the Sage will submit evidence for you, but in the future characters will have to submit/bring it themselves and characters will need to discuss evidence they discovered because evidence osmosis will not be a thing beyond the first trial. It may also be a good idea to bring items or weapons you find as you never know if they'll be relevant.

However, per a new rule, any attempts to purposely sabotage or hold back evidence in order to exonerate/make a character look guilty or innocent will result in punishment.

As far as body investigations go, generally it's faster to let characters who have medical knowledge or experience with crime scenes/investigations look over a body rather handing it off midthread or leaving it to a character that's less knowledgeable. That's not to say it's discouraged, but it helps move things along! ICly they may be able to provide more information on the body than another character as well, which is something to definitely keep in mind!

It might be best to also keep reactions to the body discovery part of investigations not top levels. What can help in keeping things organized is limiting conversations during investigation threads until the area's clear. Afterwards, discussion can happen. It's not really mandatory or anything, just a suggestion.

Also, for clarification's sake--we know we've mentioned that there will be top levels directing to where evidence is, but we want to add that within the comment there will be a number indicating how much evidence is in a given area following the body announcement. Links to the evidence will be edited into the comment after the investigation is concluded so you guys can easily review it!

We'd like to remind everyone that voting is mandatory. However, we're allowing one pass for any stragglers this one time around.

We also have an additional announcement, independent of clarifications. We would like to introduce [plurk.com profile] somagic  as an official member of our mod team, as of today! She has been assisting us with a few of coding things on the side, but now she's going to be tackling coding tasks and a few finer things so that we have all our ducks in a row, as it were.

On a separate note, we would also like to remind for lore/setting investigations to be kept to the beginning of the week and one location per character.

That's all for now, but as always, if anyone has any questions/things they wish to be clarified, please feel free to ask.
